Summary
I am a motivated and ambitious aspiring sailor with a love for boats and being on the sea. After graduating high school in June 2025 I decided to take a gap year to improve my sea-faring skills and gain hands-on experience in the marine industry. I began competitive sailing on an optimist at age 7 and had my last competitive season in 2023 on the laser. In 2022 and 2023 I sailed as the captain's mate on a pilot cutter for a total of 6 weeks off the coast of southern France for a total of 1000 nautical miles. In September of 2025, I passed my skipper C license with Croatian Sailing Academy in Pula Croatia. In November 2025 I completed a diesel engine course in Barrington Rhode Island with Narragansett Sailing Company. I am eager to find an opportunity that will help me gain experience related to boat systems and sailing. I plan to eventually pursue studies in general engineering and specialize as a marine technician, with the goal of building a career in the boat building and marine technology industry.

- I am leading the restoration of a 14 m steel sailboat as part of a gap year project. The goal of the project is to make the boat seaworthy in less than two years.
- Currently, we are in the process of using CAD to design a new engine cradle.
- The restoration process also includes sandblasting the inside of the boat and re-fitting the engine.

- I joined QBE in 2022 and 2023, and was chosen to be the Captain's first mate both years, and lead the other sailors on a three-week cruise from Pornichet to St. Malo.
- I was responsible for coordinating the crew because the captain did not speak English. Responsibilities ranged from rigging the sails, docking, helming, day and night navigation, and tackling other problem-solving situations.
