Giuliana is an experienced music education professional with a background in choral conducting, teacher development and leadership. She is driven by a commitment to human development and socio-cultural inclusion in all aspects of her work. Motivated, focused and skilled in bringing projects to successful completion; she balances innovative thinking with effective process management.
Since 2008, Giuliana Frozoni has served as a Pedagogical Manager at Santa Marcelina Cultura, a Social Organisation responsible for managing Projeto Guri – a programme for musical education and social inclusion for children and adolescents – and the São Paulo State Music School (EMESP Tom Jobim), which oversees the activities of its Scholarship Artistic Groups, including the Opera Academy of Theatro São Pedro.
She has been responsible for planning and coordinating Training Days and Socio-Pedagogical Meetings for music teachers, social workers, and other team members.
She has also contributed to the conception and implementation of international cooperation projects with prominent music schools and cultural institutions, such as the Paris Conservatoire and the Démos project in France, the Julliard School in the USA, the Amsterdam Conservatoire and Leerorkest in the Netherlands, Fundación Nacional Batuta in Colombia, and Sage Gateshead/The Glasshouse International Centre for Music in the UK. This included preparing and supporting students at the London Cultural Olympiad in 2012.
In 2016, she was selected to participate in Today's Leaders, a programme for young leaders and managers focused on Cultural Management, promoted by the British Council during the 3rd MultiOrchestra Conference held in São Paulo.
Between 2018 and 2021, she expanded her activities within Santa Marcelina Cultura, assuming pedagogical management at EMESP Tom Jobim. Since early 2022, she has led Projeto Guri across the state of Sao Paulo, as well as in Fundação CASA (youth custody facilities), while continuing her role as Pedagogical Manager of Projeto Guri in the Capital and Greater São Paulo. She is working on integrating the pedagogical proposition of Projeto Guri for its students and its teaching staff through the establishment of permanent training activities and planning of current and future artistic-pedagogical activities.
She has represented Santa Marcelina Cultura at conferences, symposia, and forums in the field of culture and music education in Brazil and abroad, including in countries such as Norway, South Africa, Palestine, Colombia, Venezuela, Uruguay, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.
For 25 years, she has dedicated herself to the study, practice, and research of choral music, having worked with various choirs and vocal groups as a singer, conductor, and arranger. She collaborated as an assistant conductor and arranger for CUCA – the choir at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo and for the UNICID Choir at the University Cidade de São Paulo. She has also served as lead conductor of Coral Riopardense, the De Canto em Canto Group, the OAB Penha Choir (Brazilian Bar Association), among others. Additionally, she performed as a singer with Grupo Bocca and in the UNESP Chamber Choir, under the direction of maestro Vitor Gabriel de Araújo
Since 2004, she has been the musical director and singer of Voz Moscada, a vocal group dedicated to a cappella music. She also directed the Guri Family Choir and the Guri Youth Choir as part of Projeto Guri, recording the CD “Cantos Novos” (2013), featuring compositions and arrangements specially commissioned for the group.
She has taught music theory and aural training in the Extension Course at Santa Marcelina College and, alongside Professor Dr Yara Caznok, has conducted training workshops for teachers and pedagogical technical assistants at the State Department of Education, among other activities.
