Creative journalist and writer (books and scripts) with an eye for detail and passion for crafting stories. Experienced professional passionate about creating compelling content and driving engagement.
With a relevant experience in newsrooms from the private and public sectors, my focus has shifted towards scriptwriting and content creation in video production studios and personal projects, not to mention team/project management in companies and cultural institutions.
This diverse background has provided me with a broader understanding of the communication field, while also honing skills in research and data analysis. Key highlights of my career demonstrate how my expertise can benefit organizations.
- 50th anniversary of the military coup in Chile
- Peronism (a political ideology) in Argentina nowadays
- Why Hamas attacked Israel
Here are my main articles for this magazine, all written after trips to the mentioned places:
- Soul's labyrinth (about Petra, in Jordan)
- Searching for a new order (about Cairo in times of revolution – Arab spring)
- Crossing without borders (a journey through the Chilean lakes)
- The decadent richness of São Luís do Maranhão, in the far northeast of Brazil
- Under my feet, the "chapadões" (The Chapada dos Veadeiros by it's residents)
I deal well with the movie atmosphere and every kind of multimedia resources. I have carried out numerous multimedia coverages throughout my career, especially during my time at Jornal da Tarde (where I also produced bulletins for Rádio Eldorado) and at Agência Brasil, where I conducted live broadcasts for Rádio Nacional and created bulletins for both Rádio Nacional and TV Brasil. At that time, social media was still in its infancy. However, once it gained momentum, I embraced it wholeheartedly. A testament to this is the successful crowdfunding campaign for my book, during which I flooded my friends' and relatives' timelines. I love working with videos, photos, and cross-platform content. I also have experience in documentaries (having completed a course and worked on some short films) and possess an exceptional ability to master the language of cinema, television, and moving images. I have also taken a screenwriting course (please read about it in Education and Cultural Activities, above).
It’s worth highlighting my strong international background. I hold dual citizenship (Brazilian and Italian), and I’ve lived in Germany for a year. As a reporter, I’ve covered multiple international events, and I’m certainly not one to shy away from challenges. In Africa, I covered the Dakar Rally twice—an unforgettable experience that included navigating a terrorist threat in Niger, which I turned into a book called The Sahara’s Crab. In Lebanon, I took a Reuters Foundation course called “Writing International News.” In Jordan and Egypt, I embarked on a lengthy trip, writing articles for Lonely Planet magazine right after the Arab Spring. In Argentina, Bolivia, and Colombia, I reported on elections and various political and humanitarian crises. In Australia, Canada, and the United States, I covered multiple IndyCar races.
I feel a strong connection to the world beyond my homeland, having visited nearly 40 countries across all continents. My passion for connecting with people runs so deep that new places and cultures quickly feel like home. I’m fluent in four languages—Portuguese, English, Italian, and Spanish—and I’m excited about the possibility of living and working in Malta.
