Paula is a dedicated and compassionate Brazilian anesthesiologist physician. After she completed her medical residency, she commenced a one-year fellowship in pediatric and neonatal anesthesia, during which she participated in over 320 pediatric anesthetic and surgical procedures. As part of her training, she also completed six months of certified anesthesia training for adult liver transplantation. Throughout her fellowship, she played an active role in 20 pediatric liver transplants. Upon completing her fellowship, Paula was invited to continue working as a pediatric anesthesiologist at the Hospital das Clínicas of the University of São Paulo and the Children and Adolescent Institute of the University of São Paulo (Instituto da Criança e do Adolescente da Universidade de São Paulo), demonstrating her expertise and commitment to high-quality patient care. She has experience in general pediatric and neonatal anesthesia, with a particular focus on pediatric neuroanesthesia and pediatric liver transplant anesthesia. Her passion for research and science began early in her medical training, leading her to participate in national and international scientific events. She is currently pursuing a PhD.
Most recently, in March 2025, she completed a four-week observership in pediatric cardiac anesthesia at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), further expanding her expertise in specialized pediatric anesthetic care.
