Accomplishments

  • A milestone worth marking — Plasterboard fixing and stopping complete at the Waikato Regional Theatre

  • Team,In an economy full of negatives, we need to highlight projects that are what we can consider marquee to our business, we wrapped the plasterboard fixing and stopping scope on the new Waikato Regional Theatre in Hamilton. This one is worth pausing on, because it isn't just another job ticked off the programme. It's a landmark project for the region, and our team has put their stamp on it.A bit of context on why this build matters. The Waikato has been without a dedicated large-scale performing arts venue since the Founders Theatre closed its doors back in 2016. For close to a decade, touring shows, ballet, opera, and major productions have largely bypassed Hamilton or made do with venues that weren't built for the job. The Waikato Regional Theatre changes that. Sitting on Victoria Street alongside the river, it delivers a purpose-built 1,300-seat auditorium for the region while retaining the heritage façades of the existing buildings on the site — knitting the new build into Hamilton's central city character rather than replacing it.The remodel itself has been a serious test of craftsmanship. Theatres are unforgiving environments: curved walls, raked ceilings, tight acoustic tolerances, and finishes that have to look flawless under stage lighting. Our team handled the lot — complex geometry, specialist acoustic linings, working in and around other trades on a fast-moving programme, and finishing to a standard that suits a venue built to host international productions for the next 50+ years. The QA document attached highlights some of these details and the complexities around the works completed.A huge thank you to the team involved. Paulo you've put the Global Linings name on a building the Waikato will be proud of for generations. Joshua you’ve managed a complex project with high level details fantastically, a huge credit to you all.
